Mid August saw us at Southwell Racecourse for their Ladies Day which was rather entertaning!
Around 9000 people converged on the course , mainly groups of ladies dressed up to the nines and out for a good time.....they found us!
Our selection of Gins went down a storm and we had queues all day. Every order was different from salted toffee to apple and lavender, you never know what people will order.
The day was topped off by Elvis, well a look a likey but he sounded good to me.
We all had a blast and can't wait for the next one.
The first week in August saw us attending a 1940's weekend in Market Harborough. The weather was fine and it was really interesting.
We had a really interesting chat with Dave from 1940sradio.com ...you learn new stuff every day!
There were lots of big boy's toys ( tanks, cars etc), singing and music, WW2 re-enactors, trade stands, vintage fashions and food & drink.
We tried out a few new gins as we have started buying from a lot more small producers and the hit of the day was black tomato gin!
The last Sunday in July saw us again with Charlotte, Joseph and the Jiveswing crowd. Wow! what a fantastic event.
The day started with rain and didn't look too promising but by lunchtime the sun was out, crowds were arriving , the music was on and the dancers were off!
Rachel and I had queues all afternoon and never saw a thing ...good and bad I guess.
Watford loved our selection of 80+ Gins and people were coming back and trying different ones a few times.
Thanks also to Helen and Watford Borough Council for supporting this fantastic well attended event.
The locals clearly love Jiveswing as do we!
See you all next year Watford.
